The Mount Ngungun summit is the most popular in the Hinterland attracting people from all over the world. The adventurous trail begins in an open forest that features stunning views of Mount Coonowrin, Mount Beerwah and Mount Tibrogargan. Let’s go on this 30-40 minutes journey and admire nature along the way. Though the summit can be done by the evening, I prefer scheduling it for sunrise or sunset to make the most of the beautiful 360-degree views and color-changing skies that you’ll not experience anywhere else.

Lunch eaten outside while watching the sunset is easily my favorite date night. The extensive grounds of the Canungra Creek are perfect for enjoying a picnic with one of their delicious picnic baskets. You can choose from the homestead picnic basket that includes fried chicken, salami, cured ham, salads, vegetables, dips, and a lot of other snacks with free wine tasting. Their Creekside bbq includes steak, sausages, chicken skewers, dips with crackers, fresh bread and more. Let’s book this fantastic picnic opportunity and enjoy the golden light in the evening under the dabbled shades of oak trees. We’d nibble on freshly made food, sip on several wines and indulge in delicious ice cream when the sun sets and fireflies appear around us.
